This graph tells me that the majority of our data is based on males. As you can see 60% of the data collected is from males. This impacts our short film in a positive way as we know how our film should be for our male audience, however we haven't as much data collected as we need for our female audience.
What is your age?-As you can see here, we asked everyone what bracket their age falls in. From what we collected, you can see that everyone we asked was below the age of 45. The majority of people questioned were aged 16-24. Having our surveys done by people that are mainly aged between 16-24 is a good thing as this is exactly the age bracket we are trying to target.
What is your socio-economic grouping?
As you can see here, we have asked people what socio-economic group they fall in. The data collected tells us that 40% of the people we had do the survey are classed as "semi skilled and unskilled manual worker". This question does not have much of an impact on our idea as I don't believe someones socio-economic group can define their interest in movies.
What hobbies do you enjoy?-
As you can see here, we asked people what they're hobbies are. The data that we gathered told us that 30% enjoy going gym and another 30% enjoy going to the movies. This impacts our short film in a positive way as the majority of the people we questioned are into watching films. Having our survey done by people that like films is good as they will answer our the rest of our questions honestly.
Where in the UK do you live?-
As you can see here, we asked people where in the United Kingdom they live. The majority of people answered, London. This tells us that our audience will mainly be based in London. This impacts our short film in a positive way as our film is based in London so the audience will enjoy seeing a film that is relate-able to their life style or their younger days.
We have two main characters in our short film. Do you think there are enough characters part of the story? Please explain why-
The results we gathered through this question were positive as nearly everyone thought that 2 characters were enough and their reasoning for their answer was that they found having only 2 characters helps you focus on the film. These results have helped us as we were considering more characters for the film. We also got mixed opinion as some said that the responses said that they thought we needed to have more characters but we think that having 2 characters for a film like ours is better as it adds the element of your typical stoner film based around only two friends.
What could we add to improve our idea?
The data that we gathered from this question was very helpful. The answers very mixed, however we have picked out the best ideas and decided to incorporate them into our short film for example we will try make it a lot more funny by adding humor when the characters are speaking as this can make the audience laugh and it may relate to the audience more. The impact these results will have on our film will be positive as this is what our target audience wishes to see this in the short film which means appealing to the target audience and being able to relate to them.
What works well about our idea?
The information gathered from this question has allowed us to make a decision on what should and what shouldn't stay in our film. The majority of our responses told us that we are sending a good message on drug awareness but we pursue it in a humorous way which means it getting across to the audience. This has had a positive impact on our film as we now know that our audience likes the fact that we are raising awareness for drugs and by doing this we can show the negative side and how it can allow you to be more paranoid and not being in control.
In our short film we focus on young people smoking marijuana, how do you feel about this?
The results gathered from this question allowed us to directly ask our audience on their opinions of our idea for drug awareness, from the responses we see that the audience see drugs not being an issue and some have even said they believe that the marijuana is good for you, this means that by creating this short film will be able to show them the bad side and this may change the view on drugs. The information gathered told us that many people found this as a positive element to add in our short film as it is sending a good message to the right age groups.
What do you think about this specific scene in our short film?
This question let us know if we should keep our beginning scene the same. The results gathered told us that the majority of people enjoyed reading a description of the first scene for our film as they thought it was very funny and it was powerful scene, however we did get constructive criticism to improve it as some said it takes the serious element out of it, but more people have said that they think it works well and the scene has great detail, this tells us that we should leave it in there and not make any changes to it.
